About Dr Bijan Shahrad

I am a consultant paediatrician with extensive experience in general and emergency paediatrics and a special interest in gastroenterology and respiratory medicine.

Known for my excellent bedside manner, I apply a holistic approach to my practice and have been recognised in local and national awards for my work with children.

As a parent myself, I deeply understand how overwhelming it can be to see your child unwell. I have witnessed firsthand the emotional toll that a child's illness can have on families, and I am committed to providing compassionate, personalised care that meets the needs of both parents and children.

With extensive experience in general paediatrics, I offer comprehensive care for children of all ages, addressing a wide range of common health concerns such as eczema, growth and developmental delays, headaches, recurrent infections, milk allergies, feeding difficulties and enuresis, amongst many others.

Gastroenterology

Specialising in childhood digestive issues, I care for conditions such as constipation, acid reflux, abdominal pain and coeliac disease. I am experienced in diagnosing and managing complex gastrointestinal problems, helping children get the relief they need, quickly and effectively.

Respiratory Issues

As one of the leads in paediatric respiratory medicine in my NHS hospital, I can help from managing asthma to treating chronic coughs and recurrent chest infections. I will deliver personalised care to help your child breathe easier and live better.
